“I’m drawn to materials, structure, colour, texture, dynamics, tension, shades of light and contrast: I take all of these aspects and mould them into an image. Some things I experience I am unable to express in words, only in images. The image must evoke a primal feeling in me, a confrontation with the self. Visualization as the archetype. If I were to describe my work it would be a demonstration of light an everything that evolves around it.”

During this period, Paul Odekerken concentrated on working with ceramics and serial productions of models based on his own designs. The combination of exclusive designs, a well-defined use of materials and traditional craftsmanship resulted in high-quality, unique products

  • 2002: Paul Odekerken decided to return to his artist’s roots.

His sphere of activity is now no longer limited to ceramics, but has been expanded to include individual works of art, including paintings, works in bronze and other materials. The artist also specializes in creating exclusive models and other designs for serial production by third parties.
